Fred Nussbaum, Director

Fred Nussbaum has been playing cello since 1966 after seven years on the violin. Besides playing classical music, Fred plays for contra dances, English Country dances, early and traditional jazz, as well as dabbling in other genres. He has appeared with several choruses in Port Townsend and appears regularly with the vintage jazz trio, Blue Crows. He also works as a studio musician. Finally, he teaches private cello lessons to both youth and adults.

Fred moved to PT with his wife in 2014 from Portland, where had he lived for 53 years. In Portland, in addition to the above mentioned activities, Fred was an instructor for six years at the Community Music Center, providing private cello lessons to youth and adults and teaching group cello lessons to adults.
